Guatemala Trip Presentation

Sunday, Dec. 11 at 5:00 there will be a pitch-in dinner and presentation given about the mission trip to Guatemala that local people went on this summer. It will take place at St. George's. The address is 4020 N Sherman Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46226 if you are interested. A few of us are already planning on attending, so if you come, you won't be alone! :)

Agape Canisters

Recently the OYA Council ordered Agape Canisters from the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC). These are canisters that can get set out at local businesses to collect money for the OCMC Agape fund. Here's what OCMC says about Agape:

"The Agape Canister Program is an Orthodox non-profit development program of the Orthodox Christian Mission Center in St. Augustine, FL. It is dedicated to meeting the needs of children, families and communitities throughout the world regardless of race, creed or color. ~ All funds collected by the Agape Canister Program are earmarked for: medical care, agricultural development, building of schools, providing food, clothing, supporting medical clinics and personnel (e.g. docotors, nurses and teachers), construction of water wells and educating indigenous people in their own communities."

If you would like to have a canister to take to a local business to collect money, you can e-mail Amy at agape@ocmc.org. Or, if you want to do it through OYA, e-mail to orthodoxyoungadultsofin@hotmail.com.

If you see one in the community, please contribute! :)

Sunday Supper on November 20

*Elizabeth and I are hosting a Sunday Supper!!*

When: Sunday Nov. 20 - 6:00-9:00 pm
Where: Elizabeth and Hannah's - 343 Carolyn Court Carmel, IN 46032
What: food, fellowship, and fun

Theme: The theme is "Thanksgiving" however, those of us on the new calendar are already fasting. So the challenge is to bring a dish that resembles Thanksgiving food, but is lenten! Have fun! ;) We will also have a small discussion about being thankful as Orthodox Christians.

* Sunday Suppers are designed to be like a closing of the weekend and beginning of the week. Just a relaxing, enjoyable time for people to meet or get to know people better. Come when you want and leave when you want. Think coffee shopish, but with all friends, real food, and a spiritual environment! :) *

FYI: We do have two cats, in case you are allergic.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!
